Swift Water Place examines a Native Alaskan village's, Kiana, relationship with a team of archeologists excavating an ancient, underground village on nearby National Park Service land. In keeping with Park Service policy, the excavation halts when human remains are found. Kiana must decide whether to honor their ancestors or petition the Park Service to resume the dig in hopes of learning more of their history.
