In 1983 an exceptional group of women, who would leave a unique legacy in Chile's history, sprung up. It was the movement called 'Women for Life'. During the military dictatorship, when few people dared go out on the streets, women who are almost forgotten today, organized rallies and art actions with thousands of other women, and courageously carried out quick and unprecedented demonstrations. Their goal was to speak up and expose what was going on in the country on behalf of those who could not do it, and thus put an end to the rule of death existing in Chile at the time. In their pursuit of justice and freedom, these women opposed the military dictatorship and thus contributed to speed up the path to democracy. Today, these women, most of them seniors, continue to actively work towards making Chile a country of greater justice and solidarity. Hand in hand with the oldest one of them, we will get to know this story, which asserts the role of our country's women.
